Deutsche Bank is one of Europe's largest banks, and connecting it to a personal finance app gives you a complete view of your spending, savings, and investments. Here's how to do it safely.
Step 1 — Choose a European-compatible finance app
Not every app supports European banks. Finch is built for Europe and supports Deutsche Bank via PSD2-regulated Open Banking.
Step 2 — Authorize via Open Banking
Bank connections in the EU use Open Banking APIs regulated under the PSD2 directive. You'll be redirected to Deutsche Bank, log in with your online-banking credentials, and explicitly approve read-only data sharing.
Step 3 — Review what's shared
- Account balances
- Transaction history
- Investment positions (where applicable)
Finch can never initiate payments — connections are read-only by design.
Step 4 — Manage consent
You can revoke access at any time directly in Deutsche Bank online banking under "Third-party access" or "Open Banking consents", and also in Finch settings.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Finch never stores your Deutsche Bank credentials — only the Open Banking consent token.
